The Lamia claim their serpentine form is a curse inflicted by treacherous gods in a long-forgotten age. They now dwell on the fringes of civilization, greedily amassing wealth and unleashing their cruelty upon those unfortunate enough to cross their path.

The most ambitious and sinister among them rise to lead cults and armed warbands, becoming Lamia Matriarchs, elevated above all others by their mastery of illusion and occult powers.
